The Trouvaille - The Find

Old Sheffield Silver-Plated Covered Dish

Found at an estate sale in Beverly Hills.

We may never know exactly whose table it once graced or what was served beneath its domed lid. That is part of its charm.

Generous loop handles, a wonderfully simple form, and an oversized acorn finial made this one impossible to leave behind.

Now the lid lifts to reveal three wicks and candlelight—a rather lovely second life for a piece almost left behind.

AFTER HOURS AT THE MARCHÉ
Tobacco Flower • Vanilla Orchid • Cedarwood • Tonka Bean • Citron

weight 4lb 9 oz.

Silver plate • Old Sheffield • Three cotton wicks • Natural soy wax • Hand-poured in California • Refillable • One of one

Our vessels are photographed up close to show their beautiful details. Please check the dimensions carefully—some of our favorite finds are quite petite.

Each vessel is vintage and one of a kind. Tarnish, scratches, small dents and other signs of age may be present. We consider them part of its history—and part of its charm.
