A wonderful vintage Italian silver-plate ice bucket with a sculptural rooster finial, fitted glass liner, domed lid and swing handle. The body is covered in an unusual vertical textured finish, interrupted by simple polished bands.
Turn it over and the best bit appears: the original blue-and-silver label from Gioielleria U. Orlando, Via Cavour 6, Torino.
We haven't been able to identify the original manufacturer, and we're not going to invent one. The jeweler's label remains beautifully intact and gives the piece its Italian provenance.
It has scratches, tarnish, rubbing and the various small indignities acquired by a good-looking object that has actually been used. We wouldn't have it any other way.
Fill it with ice. Add a bottle.
